14 Companies Launch Operations in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Region, Boosting Economic Growth
In a significant boost to industrial development, 14 companies have commenced operations in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region over the past year. This expansion is largely attributed to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, which has positioned the area as a key investment hub.
Major Investments Fueling Growth
Leading companies such as Surya Global, Avery Dennison, and Bikanerwala have established their manufacturing units, contributing to a collective investment of Rs 23,000 crore. Officials have noted a rapid acceleration in industrial activity, particularly post-September 2024, with 12 out of the 14 companies beginning operations in this period. The industrial units span diverse sectors, including mobile phone manufacturing, food processing, aluminum production, and packaging materials.
Key Players and Their Investments
- Vivo Mobile India has made the largest investment, allocating Rs 7,000 crore for its Sector 24 manufacturing unit, which started operations on October 21, 2024. The company has also announced an additional Rs 15,000 crore investment for expansion.

Additional Enterprises and Future Developments
Between September 2024 and January 2025, seven smaller enterprises, with investments ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 10 crore, have also set up operations. These companies are engaged in diverse industries, including garment manufacturing, paper production, plastics, and electronic goods.
Looking ahead, Patanjali Group is set to become the 15th company to establish operations in the region by April 2025. Having acquired 430 acres in 2017, the company plans to build a large-scale food processing unit, including a biscuit plant and a milk processing facility with a daily capacity of one million litres.
YEIDA: A Thriving Industrial Hub
YEIDA’s growth trajectory has been impressive, with 3,041 industrial plots allocated across 1,880 acres, attracting proposed investments of Rs 3.3 lakh crore. These developments are expected to generate employment opportunities for 4.5 lakh individuals, reinforcing the region’s status as a premier investment destination.
According to YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh, “The upcoming Noida International Airport has significantly contributed to the industrial boom. With multiple units gearing up for production, the region’s economic expansion is progressing steadily. The airport will further drive industrial and economic growth once operational.”
Diversification and Future Prospects
Beyond industrial expansion, YEIDA has been actively diversifying its development portfolio, allocating land for housing projects, hotels, data centres, and semiconductor manufacturing units. Additionally, the authority has planned specialised industrial zones catering to Japanese, Korean, and American companies, focusing on sectors such as electronics, electric vehicles, and IT.
With such robust growth and strategic investments, the Yamuna Expressway region is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most promising industrial corridors, offering lucrative opportunities for businesses and investors alike.
